So, what’s the story behind
Thornbury Farm?
The farm is the site of the Battle of Brandywine, the largest land battle of the American Revolution, on Sept 11,1777. The Battle of Brandywine is where General Howe fought against General Washington and Marquis De lafayette.
Thornbury Farm has huge pastures of the battle field overlooking the 1740’s barn – this barn also houses one of the area’s largest pipe organs from 1889. Various animals may come over, to say hello. The farm houses a bee-hive oven under the open pergola and patio covered in trumpet vines and twinkle lights, overlooking the organic produce fields.
